Here's a Tip to Remove Scratches from Your Furniture: Dust with a soft cloth moistened with furniture oil. Oil will help camouflage minor surface scratches.

For a more noticeable furniture scratch, use these coloring agents, rubbing in the direction of the wood grain:

Ebony -- black eyebrow pencil
Mahogany -- brown paste wax or dark brown crayon
Maple -- apply equal parts linseed oil and turpentine with a cotton swab, let dry and buff.
Teak -- lightly rub with very fine steel wool with the grain. Apply solution of equal parts linseed oil and turpentine.
Walnut -- break off a piece of fresh unsalted walnut or pecan nut meat and rub freshly exposed surface on furniture.
