Hand
Care for Health
Investing time and energy in proper hand care is essential. Everyone
uses their hands daily for washing dishes, working on the computer,
mowing the lawn or eating dinner. We spend time caring for many
other parts of our body, by using moisturizers in out of the shower,
brushing and flossing our teeth, and shampooing, conditioning and
brushing hair to ensure it stays healthy. What most busy people
do not spend time maintaining is the health and beauty of our hands.
Hand care is important for health.
Our hands are vital parts of our bodies. Most of us do not have
time to enjoy the luxury of indulging in endless personal care
treatments or products to help ensure that our bodies stay healthy.
We tend to be too busy. Taking a few steps to add hand care products
to your routine can help ensure that this most essential part of
your body stays in the best condition possible, without taking
any time away from your normal daily routine. Here are a few products
for the entire family to use to enjoy healthy and beautiful hands,
even if dad works on the lawn all day, mom works in the yard, or
the kids play in the mud for hours.
1. Antibacterial Soap-Placing antibacterial liquid soap throughout
the house is the first step to creating healthy hands. Everyone
in the family picks up germs on their hands throughout the day.
Hands that are not washed with antibacterial soap can spread illnesses
to other household members. A wonderful soft, creamy hand soap
that helps prevent bacteria and germs from staying on hands is
ideal for great hand care (Stanley Apple Blossom Hand Soap). This
is a great way to ensure that everyone’s hands remain healthy
and clean. Humans cannot see the bacteria and germs on our hands.
Many times, we assume germs are not there, but this simply is not
the case. Especially if you have been out in public, working in
the yard, or the kids have been playing in the neighborhood, wash
up with soap to kill those germs before dinner time.
2. Sanitary Hand Wipes-A wonderful new invention that came along
soon after portable baby wipes is sanitary hand wipes. These wipes
fit neatly in the glove compartment of a car, a purse or a school
backpack and can be easily used for a quick antibacterial cleaning
when away from home. Hand wipes are great to take along on an afternoon
trip with the kids. Look for hand wipes which have aloe vera and
glycerin to moisturize hands while cleaning. (Stanley Hand Sanitizer
Wipes). When you are away from home, sanitary hand wipes are a
great way to make sure you don’t pick up bacteria, but can
keep your hands clean. When it comes to hand care, prevention is
the best medicine!
3. Moisturizing Hand Cream-Both men and women should take the
time to care for their hands by regular use of a moisturizer. Although
moisturizing may seem unnecessary to some people, constantly washing
hands or using them to clean, work in the yard, or even to type
on the computer can dry hands out, make them swell, or shrink up
if wet, causing brittle nails. Many people may think that thew
condition of their nails doesn’t matter, but it does. Just
as bacteria and fungus can get underneath toenail beds from lack
of care, the same can happen to hands. Dry hands can also cause
constant irritation, or lead to cracking and bleeding, which can
lead to infection – good hand care requires moisturizer.
Keep your hands well moisturized and the skin healthy with a simple
moisturizer, which offers natural remedies like shea nuts oils,
aloe vera, and sea algae (Stanley Nature’s All-Purpose Crème).
These products help add moisture and life to your hands and to
prevent them from cracking, bleeding and possibly leading to infection.
Consider placing a good hand cream next to your bed at night or
on the coffee table so you can rub this into your hands while watching
your favorite television program.
4. Hand Healthy Dishwashing Liquid-Until recently, keeping healthy
hands while washing dishes was nearly impossible without wearing
rubber gloves. Now, many companies are creating dishwashing liquid
that contains moisturizing agents like aloe vera to maintain healthy
and beautiful hands and nails even when while washing dishes. Using
a high quality dishwashing soap is important for proper hand care
(Stanley’s Original Degreaser). Cheap, low quality soaps
contain chemicals which not only dehydrate the skin, but strip
your skin of essential oils necessary for protection.
